This is a story about a group of students moving together from 2nd to 3rd and how they trusted their teacher to get them "just right" new tables. Even though the first real days of 3rd Grade their room looked just the same as when they were 2nd Graders, Miss Heidi told them their new tables were on the way and would arrive any day. That expectation dimmed as over 30 days of Grade 3 chugged on by.
I don't know if some gave up on that promise or doubted a little that Third Grade was important enough for new tables but Miss Heidi never gave up. She worried and lamented the wait, that's for sure and finally wrote a persuasive and strongly-worded letter to the people responsible for the delay. Friday, October 9, when the students of 210 arrived at school, they entered a transformed room.

Here are the old (2nd Grade) tables out in the hallway
ready to be carried down the stairs and away. |
Here's the floor where the new tables will go. |
The engineers bring in the tables! |
Miss Heidi wonders and walks.
She is thinking "How shall I best arrange these tables?" |
After many tries the tables are almost set. This arrangement is close but not quite right. |
This is better. It needed an aisle between the two sides and now the chairs are added and it is just about ready. |

On Friday morning, October 9, this sign is on the the door. Finally 210 is a Third Grade Room! |
