When humans learned to speak, I imagine that they soon started to tell each other stories, weaving them with song and dance. So maybe Africa was the first home of stories.
There are more than 2,000 languages spoken across Africa. Each story was first told in one of these languages before someone translated it into English. It is Friday evening. I spent many hours in the past two days making my classroom a more welcoming place; a home for the day- every day- for the third graders entrusted to me. Just wanting to relax, I decided to check Loring webpages to see what we are doing. First was yours. I have never been disappointed when reading your words. The images of our kids writing their poems and seeing them in all their glory, here, bring thankfulness. I am thankful that Loring has you as our librarian and know the students are well served by you!
